Andy Hasoon, Corporate Strategy Director at Intellego Holdings plc, Director at PIXELearning, Director at Milamber Investments

I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I have been involved in learning since 1994 and in 1999 set up Courseleader.com a business which specialised in IT training .In 2003 I co-founded 50 Lessons Limited and as CEO built this digital media company that produced, owned, and distributed the award-winning ‘Fifty Lessons Library’, the world’s pre-eminent collection of multimedia insights from global business leaders. 50 Lessons, was recently acquired by Skillsoft.com this year.

In September 2007 I led the acquisition of Truman Company, Inc., so that together with 50 Lessons they would create the Soundbridge Group, a UK holding company with operational headquarters just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, USA where I became Senior Executive Director of the Board and was President and Group Chief Commercial Officer. Soundbridge Group grew from $2.85m turnover in 2007 to $7.05m in 2008, a growth of 148%, and the Group generated operating profits from Q3 2008 onwards. I stepped down from active management of the Group in July 2009 and from the Group Board in November 2009 to pursue other interests.

I have also co-authored the best selling ‘Lessons Learned’ series – a 12 book series – published by Harvard Business School Press, and announced the signing of a second 12 book series while ringing the closing bell for NASDAQ on the 12th January 2009 with Jeff Hayzlett the Chief Marketing Officer of Eastman Kodak.

In December 2009 I moved back from the US to the UK. I believed it was time to get moving on some of the business ideas that have been parked for a while; because until you get down to executing them they stay just that, an idea! And my skill is turning ideas into an envisioned reality and making things happen.

In January 2010 I decided to launch the Milamber Group along with other business units of Milamber. The Milamber Consulting business unit has been in existence and under my management since 2001 providing services to early stage companies. However it was time for the next stage in Milamber’s evolution. In the Autumn of 2009 I began preparations for the launch of Milamber Digital and Milamber Investments. As part of Milamber Digital and Milamber Investments, PIXELearning were acquired by Intellego and I am currently in the role of Corporate Strategy Director.

The quote by Henry Ford (1863-1947) “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right!” and another by Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626) –‘Knowledge is Power”, both resonate for me in today’s business world.  For me the power of people to ‘help’ make things happen individually or for an organisation is truly fascinating and if a person or an organisation can harness that help, especially by using the digital media, then extraordinary things can happen!
