Flash Serious Games Developer

You will be responsible for writing, testing, debugging and implementing Flash. You should be able to use Flex development frameworks to design and develop RIAs, either from scratch or using PIXELearning’s LearningBeans Engine. The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer animation, computer science, or a related field, will have completed an extensive Flash training program, and be fluent in ActionScript especially AS3. A strong portfolio and several years of experience is also highly desirable.

Required Skills

As a Flash programmer, it’s assumed that you’re an Actionscript expert. In addition, you should possess an in-depth understanding of Flash compression practices and OO techniques. You should know how to encode audio and video within Flash and be skilled in Adobe Photoshop. You should have a working knowledge of Flash animation techniques and have experience in creating Flash applications that use XML and server side technologies. You should also have experience working with HTML, JavaScript and XML. You should be organized, detail-oriented, have good communication skills and be able work on a team or independently. As technology is ever-changing, programmers must be adaptable and willing to learn new technologies. An interest in new technologies is desirable.


As a Flash programmer, you are responsible for using Flash software to turn concepts and designs into compelling, interactive content that functions the way it’s supposed to. You will work on several projects at any given time and may be asked to provide assistance at all phases, from concept to production. You may also be required to come up with ideas for improving and maintaining existing applications. You will need to look for creative solutions to complicated programming issues.


Ideally you will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, game design or information technology from an accredited university. However if you are able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in place of formal education you may still be considered.


Ideally at least two years of experience developing Flash applications is desired.
